I just finished Small Favour. OMG. Awesome. And with all that happened to John, I had to write this. WARNING! SPOILERS! MAJOR SPOILERS.

Another lurker-fic. I'm in the mood to run through my hard-drive, and toss up anything that looks half-decent. This one's weird, and for a fandom that I don't think exists. I've seen no fic, anyway.

From Glass Books of the Dream Eaters, by G.W.Dahlquist. Random, I know, but the characters demanded it at the time. Probably no-one to read it, but meh. Anyway.

Summary: They are bloody, and ruined, but still alive. That was all that mattered. Chang dreams.

Okay, I gotta admit that while this chapter serves an important, nay, even critical plot function, over 90% of it was written because I simply could not resist the opportunity. Every noir needs a barman who knows more than he should, and a torch singer with a tragic past. And i would appreciate it if JSA fans (yes, you heard me) would tell me how horribly I've mangled their babies.

Posted so quickly in part because of Samibee's incredible artwork, http://samibee.livejournal.com/13848.html, which would inspire anyone to stay in the mood.

Rating: R(overall), no higher than PG-13 this chapter.

Warnings: Again to emphasize, Clark is not Superman in this. He's not exactly 'normal', which admittedly is a tentative term itself, but the very much superhuman aspects of his abilities have been toned waaay down. He is not going to be flying around Gotham any time soon. But he does have a little extra trick or two that are gonna come in handy later.

Chapter summary: Clark decides he needs to talk to the elusive Mr Wayne, and ends up tailing him on a very suspicious expedition into Old Gotham. He gets a little lost, and is found by a ... friend?

 For the hell of it, and because I've always loved the genre, I've started a Bruce/Clark noir AU, set in an alternate Gotham circa 1948. Not everything will be period accurate, to warn you, but I do try.

Rating:  R, for violence this chapter

Pairing:  Bruce/Clark eventually, but mentions of Bruce/Selina, among others.

Warnings:  there will one major character death in later chapters, but just basic murder this one. Also, since I had to tone everything down a bit, Clark isn't exactly Superman here. Nor is Bruce exactly Batman. But they're close.

Summary:  "Two weeks ago I walked the darkest city in America. Two weeks ago I met the man of my dreams. Two weeks ago I was caught up in a web of treachery and murder to rival the best Raymond Chandler novel, embroiled in a story that beat out anything Metropolis had ever thrown at me.
