This 'verse makes me so very, very happy. I adore it. The previous times I have intended to tell you so have all ended with me rereading my favourite parts of the latest part instead.

*grins a little* No worries. I'm glad! Thank you!
Amanda Lynnmandolin_1004 on May 12th, 2010 12:53 am (UTC)
Is it vital that I read Good Omens? I mean, I have the book, it is in my possession, I am capable of reading it, but will I be terribly confused if I don't?
icarus_chainedicarus_chained on May 12th, 2010 11:21 am (UTC)
Um. I don't know if it's vital. I've gotten comments from a number of readers who've missed one or the other of the base fandoms, and they seem happy enough. But, ah ... GO is worth it anyway, and you might want to keep it on hand? Heh. But no. You probably won't be too confused.
Amanda Lynnmandolin_1004 on May 12th, 2010 04:44 pm (UTC)
Well, if you feel it's worth reading, I might as well.
icarus_chainedicarus_chained on May 12th, 2010 04:49 pm (UTC)
*grins* Oh, it is. Well worth it. I have met/heard of a few people who read and didn't like, but I loved it. Particularly Crowley and Aziraphale, Death and Elvis, the Other Horsepeople, the paintballing incident, an angel riding to the apocalypse on a moped while possessing a painted jezebel ... *grins* Oh yes. Well worth it. Well worth it.

Good thing I have two weeks of free time.

... Read everything in two days.

I have to bow down to your creativity because it was just absolutely awesome. (And that's an understatement)

I am a fan of Good Omens and I adore Cas and Gabriel. You did a lovely job on them and the sense of humor that rang through the story. Not an easy task, since half of it is American Humor and the other is British. Crowley was Crowley and Azira was some badass mofo. You did a lovely shine on the characters and the predicament that they found themselves in.

I do wonder if you're continuing this series (they still gotta shank Michael too ya know) and... :x Does Gabe/Sam get a longer moment?

I applaud your work and cannot stop smiling.
icarus_chainedicarus_chained on May 17th, 2010 01:24 am (UTC)
*beams happily* Thank you so much! And yes, rest assured, it's not over yet.

Not an easy task, since half of it is American Humor and the other is British.
And I'm Irish, and generally speaking not what you'd call funny in any culture, so the fact that there managed to be decent humour at all is ... surprising and happy-making. Heh. I've no idea how I managed that. Thank you!
Tracker L.: gabe/samtracker_lucifer on May 17th, 2010 04:15 pm (UTC)
Irish-Irish? :O Like literally from Ireland not the Irish in the states?

But yeah, still you did a hell of a job and I spent most of the time laughing.
icarus_chainedicarus_chained on May 17th, 2010 04:26 pm (UTC)
Aye. Irish-Irish, accept no substitutes. From Ireland, born and bred, and descended from both Norman and old Irish nobility. Got some Viking too. In other words, pirates, smugglers and medieval guerillas. *grins* I think there's even a pirate queen in there somewhere, on my mother's side. Five centuries Irish at the very least, my family.

Thank you!

I'm really really hoping we see some more soon because I'm, like, totally depressed at having to throw away a childhood stuffed animal (due to mice) and could really use some cheering up ... :(
icarus_chainedicarus_chained on May 19th, 2010 04:25 pm (UTC)
There's a new chapter just went up, if it's any use to you? Heh.
Rayhnerayhne on May 19th, 2010 05:10 pm (UTC)
It certainly doesn't hurt. :)

Update soon? ::gives Sam-type puppy dog eyes::

♥ I'm loving this story. Because of this, I read Good Omens, and fell madly in love with the book.

So thank you!! And honestly, update soon or you'll have an angry Canadian on your ass :P
deathstars78 on June 25th, 2010 05:30 pm (UTC)
Yeah, dying here waiting this verse to update ;)... Love this <3. Gaiman's Good Omens is one of my very favourite books. And you have really caught the characters right :). Yeah, waiting impatiently :)...

I keep checking back, hoping for something more. And then I reread my favorite parts and feel like a nerd. This pleases me.

Just read the whole thing in about 3 hours.

Can I say that I'm in love with your 'verse, or would that be weird? Well I am, so there's little use in quibbling over it. Seriously, I may have to adopt this as canon. I ADORE everything about it.

I've been needing a good Good Omens/Supernatural crossover for ages and here is the perfect one. I'd been thinking for a while how awesome it would be to get Crowley and Gabriel in the same room for a bit 'cause they'd find each other hilarious, and you have made it so Gabriel basically saunters in, and just when I was hoping for a little Bobby, they show up at his place in a freakin' pink limo!

Would you rather I build you an army of robot minions or zombie minions? Zombie minions aren't as bright, but they never bluescreen on you at inopportune moments! :DDD

All right, so...I read the whole thing in one day. Only to realize that it's not finished. So I'm quite sad that I didn't pace myself.

Then again, can I just say, AWESOME. I just finished reading "Good Omens" just so I could start this fanfic, and I couldn't stop reading. Like I said, read it from start to finish, all while editing it into a word document for later enjoyment. Holy Moly.

Will there be more installments in the (very near) future?

I absolutely love this 'verse. The mix of SPN and Norse lore...WONDERFUL!!!! I love ALL of your stories within the SPN genre. More Please:)

Just read this start to finish again...love it, it's absolutely awesome! *grins* I'm really really hoping you're still writing this and not planning to leave us all hanging...?

Can't wait to read more!! Hands-down my favourite fic ever (I re-read all 85000-odd words...I never re-read fics...) *grins*

This fic is so captivating, I swear it was about to get me fired XD I blame your Crowley for being so very well written - he Tempted me into reading the entire thing on my phone at work :) I absolutely adore the way you describe the angels and demons, and I would be willing to make a crossroads deal to read more :)))

What a fantastic story! I've enjoyed your art and finally found the link to this. It's absolutely wonderful! You've gotten all the characters spot on. The story is also perfect; the melding of GO with Supernatural is perfectly executed.

I hope you'll be able to update the story! I'd love to read more.
sarahghostfacerss on February 11th, 2011 02:57 am (UTC)
Um. Um. Um.

I think I just about had a heart attack. I lovelovelove Supernatural, and I just was made to read Good Omens by a good friend of mine, and I love that too, and I was thinking about doing a crossover myself.

But I think after reading this all in one go that anything I attempt would be rather paltry in comparison. I just spent the past two hours not being able to breath in parts because guh this is amazing and beautiful and the characters. Oh dear lord.

I'm going to go and not make sense elsewhere, now, before I embarass myself.

You know who needs to join team free will? Adam needs to join. I just want to see the conversation between him and Lucifer as well as him as Sam. It would also give them some extra firepower

Fantastic! Read everything in under a day!
Btw, loved the little nod to Jim Butcher's Dresden Series with Sanya being the Knight!

I love your 'verse here. I re-read it more than I re-read any other GO or SPN fic (or most other types of fics, for that matter.)

I just have one tiny complaint, that nags me more and more each time I re-read it. Just one.

You bloody repeat everything! You even have me doing it now, mentally. (See above sentence) It's a wonderful way to put additional emotional weight into a sentence or conversation, showing that the person's who's saying things is giving it extra weight, or that their brain is so distraught/tired/charged/etc that they're repeating things, but to see it happen to multiple people, sentence after sentence after sentence... in a row. And then in the narration after the dialogue. Please limit it, really.

Also, I really, truly love the scene with Crowley's Cthulhu psychic scream. It is a crowning moment of Awesome and I will forever think of it when I think of the character.

Oh my, but I do love a lengthy fic series. That was lovely. Thank you so much for writing it. I appreciate that you added the summary at the end, but I do hope you finish it properly someday. I'll be sure to check up on this now and then, and I'll have to bookmark it for rereads alone. :)
alisette11 on June 7th, 2012 12:47 am (UTC)
Oh God, I love this fic to pieces. Tiny, tiny pieces. <33

But I was wondering something. I think I remember how some of the events touched upon in the fic (like after the Crusade) had their own fic somewhere, too. Am I just imagining things, too stupid to find it or was it fic by someone else?

Sorry fo bothering you with this. My google fu failed me.
icarus_chained: Good Omensicarus_chained on June 7th, 2012 12:21 pm (UTC)
*smiles* Thank you!

And ... huh. There weren't any other Arrangements fics by me, or with my knowledge. I do, however, have a short Aziraphale/Crowley fic resulting from the Crusades (Breaking), which was coming from the same place in my head.

After that ... If the story you're thinking of was by me, it'll be down the end of this masterlist, if it was by someone else, you might try the historical tag at lower_tadfield? Does that help any? *smiles sheepishly*
alisette11 on June 7th, 2012 10:27 pm (UTC)
^^ that's note the fic i was looking for, but it's still very much awesome.

I was just wondering, because the fic sounded similar in tone and the thing with Jerusalem rung bells somewhere in the back of my head. Thanks for linking me to the historical tag, it's certainly been helpful in finding more things about my favorite literature characters^^ *smiles and offers cupcake*

*edit: i found it! the historial tag was indeed the key^^ thank you.

I really liked this series. It's a shame you aren't continuing it now that you're writing fic again.

*shrugs sheepishly* I've gone through a couple of major fandom shifts since this one ground to a halt. It's a shame, yes. But ... *shrugs helplessly*

Thank you.

I love everything in the fic, especially the ending even if it's just a sorta-outline. Because it is poetic and beautiful and ohjeez lookit Crowley and Aziraphale and everyone gets a fairly happy ending :D
